Energy Geopolitics and the Middle East:  Insights, Networks, Knowledge
From the 5th-7th March,  MEC International Ltd., London, will hold the annual meeting of the Windsor Energy Group at Windsor Castle. This high-level meeting looks at energy geopolitics and will be  under the chairmanship of Lord Howell, a former British Government  energy secretary. The event is ideally suited for senior policy-makers,  energy executives and those with an interest in the power structures, networks, relationships and influence of this crucial industrial sector.

Then, on the 8th  March,  there will be a House of Lords review of possible Afghan scenarios involving regional solutions.  This will be chaired by the Rt Hon Michael Ancram and involve experts such as James Clad, a former Under-secretary at the US Department of Defense who covered this area under US Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

 MEC produces a regular in-depth analysis of Middle East developments with contributions from a distinguished expert panel. In addition it produces a regular series of newsletters covering developments across the Middle East North Africa region.

SWISS is very pleased to announce the launch of an additional SWISS route from the UK with a new London Heathrow to Geneva service operating 6 times per day starting 10th January 2010.   NEW: LONDON HEATHROW - GENEVA

The new services between London Heathrow and Geneva will be operated by two aircraft of the Airbus A320 family. In an initial phase, one of these will be provided by bmi, our new sister airline within the Lufthansa Group. Later, however, SWISS will operate all these Geneva services with its own equipment. A further SWISS Airbus A320 will be stationed in Geneva for this purpose. From London City, we will slightly modify our daily capacity to Geneva by offering four daily frequencies from 10th of January and by adding an additional frequency to Zurich on Saturdays.

As well as meeting increased demand for travel options from Heathrow to Geneva, the route will afford travellers the benefit of recently upgraded SWISS facilities at Geneva airport, including new First, Business class and Senator Lounges. At SWISS’ new Heathrow base in Terminal 1,improved infrastructure offers both a brand new Star Alliance and bmi lounge, plus a fast-track option which is helpful for the many business travellers.

Business leaders warn against minaret ban
The Swiss Business Federation (economiesuisse) has warned against a proposed ban on minarets ahead of a nationwide vote on the issue on November 29. The organisation said the initiative by members of rightwing parties could damage the competitive edge of the Swiss economy and dent the country's tolerant and open-minded reputation.

The Cheese club has a new name!
If you have known us from our humble beginning back in December 2007 you may remember that the Cheese Club started by selling cheese from the UK, France, Italy & Switzerland. Well, for the last 9 months or so, due to customer demand, we have only been supplying British Cheese so we have decided to change our name to the British Cheese Centre of Switzerland.
Thank you everyone for supporting us during our first 18 months and I hope to meet more of you at some of this summers event.
